OUR SCHOOL

Ethos and Values

At Elmbrook School, we believe that every individual deserves a supportive and inclusive environment where they can thrive. Our commitment to nurturing well-being and fostering personal growth is at the heart of everything we do. We provide tailored resources and a compassionate community, empowering everyone to embrace their unique journey. Together, we cultivate a space where learning, connection, and understanding flourish.

At Elmbrook School, we prioritise creating a safe, caring, and supportive environment for children and their families. Our holistic approach emphasises both academic and personal development, ensuring every child receives individual attention and the support they need. We encourage children to express themselves, listen to their needs, and provide opportunities for growth and learning without fear of failure. Our focus on open communication and family support helps foster a sense of belonging, allowing each child to feel valued and part of a nurturing community. Together, we create a foundation for lifelong skills and personal development.

‘We aim to create a safe and positive environment where children learn how to work, play and co-operate with each other, by valuing the contributions of all.’

We want ALL children to THRIVE:

* be prepared for transition

* have hope

* develop resilience

* be seen as individual

* have a voice

* be engaged in learning

Headteacher's Message

I am very proud to be Headteacher of Elmbrook School. We are a friendly and caring school.

If your child attends our school for a period of intervention, they will be treated with respect and helped to engage with their learning both academically and socially so that they can hopefully either return to mainstream education or successfully transfer to other suitable long term placement.

In addition, we are proud to have opened specialist provision for children with SEMH needs and communication and interaction needs. The children accessing this provision all have an EHCP and can remain with us until the end of Year 6.

Our children are encouraged to explore, discover and question through a range of exciting learning opportunities both within and outside the classroom. We aim to provide a calm and stimulating environment where good behaviour and mutual respect is modelled, and where everyone is valued. We provide a broad and balanced education with the talents of each child recognised and celebrated, thereby enabling all of our children to grow in confidence, develop a sense of responsibility and achieve their personal goals. Every child is an individual.

I hope you enjoy finding out more about our school by browsing our website. Please contact the school office if you would like any more information.

A Calm Environment

In September 2024 we were fortunate to move into our fabulous new premises. The building had been completely renovated to create a safe, welcoming and nurturing environment, with the needs of our students very much at the centre of it's design.

Our facilities boast bright, airy classrooms, reflection spaces, dedicated cooking and Science / Art classrooms alongside well designed outdoor spaces; facilitating a personalised holistic approach to learning enabling pupils to reach their potential.

Every child is an individual.

OUR GOVERNORS

Our Management Committee

Our School Management Committee plays a vital role in the smooth running and development of Elmbrook School. Our committee members come from a range of backgrounds, each bringing a unique set of skills to enhance the work of our school. There are different categories of Management Committee members: Staff Members are elected by the school staff; Parent Member positions are advertised to all parents when a vacancy arises and are then elected by parents if there are more candidates than positions; Community Members are appointed by the Management Committee; and Authority Members are appointed by the Local Authority. The Headteacher serves as an Ex-Officio Staff Member.

Message from the Chair

My name is Bruce Wells, and I am proud to be the Chair of the Management Committee for Elmbrook School. I recently retired having been the Headteacher of Folville Junior School in Braunstone. I have been on the Management Committee for several years and have been Chair since September 2016. Our role is to support the Headteachers and Elmbrook staff to ensure that we provide an excellent environment for our pupils. We are excited about the future of the school. If you would like to contact me about any issues, please do so via the school office: office@elmbrook.leicester.sch.uk.

You will find additional information regarding governors; including business interests and attendance, here.
